Nicolas Lemay-Hébert est Senior Lecturer au Département de Relations Internationales de l'Université Australienne Nationale (Australian National Univeristy, ANU). Il a obtenu son doctorat en relations internationales à Sciences Po Paris (Institut d'études politiques de Paris) en 2010. Avant de se joindre à l'ANU en 2019, Nicolas a été professeur invité à l'Université du Québec à Montréal et Senior Lecturer à l'Université de Birmingham. Ses intérêts de recherche actuels portent sur la construction de l'État et les questions d'intervention en Asie/Pacifique et au-delà. Il s'intéresse particulièrement à la résistance locale aux interventions internationales et à l'économie politique des interventions.
Nicolas a coédité quatre livres, dont Semantics of Statebuilding : Language, Meanings and Sovereignty (Routledge, 2014) ; The Political Invention of Fragile States (Routledge, 2015) ; et Hybridity : Law, Culture and Development (Routledge, 2017).
Nicolas est co-éditeur de la revue Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding et du Routledge Studies in Intervention and Statebuilding. Il est actuellement coprésident du programme Peace Section au sein de l'International Studies Association.
